well being excited that skold is 'joining' forces with manson and hoping that his songwriting/producing skills will push manson in a better direction is kinda fruitless being that he is not joining forces but has already joined forces and his songwriting/producing skills has seem to not help manson in any way. song wise, the golden age of grotesque is manson weakest attempt to date. the songs are nothing more then watered down KMFDM/MDFDK offerings which makes sense with skold on board. golden age of grotesque is also manson's least commercially successful venture, both in release and tour numbers.

i can see being excited if they just joined forces and started working on a new release but being that they have been together already and have released material that is nothing more then average, sub-average compared to earlier manson offerings, i don't see the source of the excitement.

Basically, your statement, skold joining forces
with manson excites me, pertains to something that would be happening in the present. Just wanted to make sure you were aware of the fact that it is something that has already happened.

"Tim Tim" Skold was a participant on his lat album "Golden Age"

That is not the juicy tidbit... If you look around you may find a "PROMO ONLY" copy of this sampler for the album on CD, on this "sampler" is a couple of Manson tracks from the album and about 7 or 8 tracks of Tim Skold SOLO material!

Only way to get it, or so I am told...been looking for it for quite awhile, seen it in posession of others but I have yet to obtain one.

1. patronizing? all i was doing is helping out on a topic i was familiar with. your statement implied present, i was just informing that it wasn't. just as if i said i'm excited about the latest version of photoshop, photoshop 7, i am sure you would have informed me that CS was the latest and 7 was past tense. would i then look at you as patronizing? doubt it.

2. of course it's according to me. did i anywhere in my reply state that i was speaking for the masses? every review i have ever done or any opinion i have ever given has been according to me unless otherwise stated. if someone's opinion does not begin with "according to so and so", i always take that as their own personal opinion.

3. again, i never equated artistic validity with commercial success in my reply. what i stated was that golden age of grotesque was the least commercially successful release. if i stated that golden age of grotesque was an artist flop due to it's lack of commercial success then your insight would have been correct.

4. i still don't see the optimism. they have already collaborated and i didn't hear anyone here exclaiming how amazing golden age of grotesque was. i've heard how funny they look. i've heard how bad of a move for skold this was and i've heard how manson sucks but i didn't hear anyone proclaim golden age of grotesque as anything but another manson album. if they never released anything together i could see the excitement but since they already had a shot at it, that's what i will go by. i admire your optimism though

i remember when those skold demos were making their way around the net with people trying to pass them off as selections from the new manson album. i think i have a copy of it at home somewhere along with some harry cody demos. if you need them let me know.

i still think second coming is a classic. i also like violent new breed but it wears thin too quickly. with that said, don't care 'bout nothin' is still my all time favorite shotgun song.

thats how i feel exactly .... tim skold is a far better singer ...but dont care about nuthin is my all time fav.

i'd like yo hear some Skold demo's and even more Harry Cody ones " ...

Manson was good in the beginning but then I got tired of his cliche' repetitive expressions. In otherwords, it all got old. To this day out of all Manson's albums, I have to say Mechanical Animal has to be the best due to it's Ziggy Stardust qualities about it.

I don't think Bill is ever "out for a fight", as I really don't think he gives a shit. He was just trying to point something out and maybe "help" in a way. I think we all know Bill is our main resident Industrial nut, and if he sees mention on the topic, and something possibly wrong or "misguided" info-wise, he will post about it. It's what we all do here on every single topic...but mainly about PBF, HTM and Vain.
